Thomas Waldman

Tom Waldman is responsible for the legal component of Global Equity Capital LLC’s transaction activity and also provides support for portfolio companies. He joined GEC in 2007 from Bingham McCutchen LLP, where he had been a partner in the private equity practice group. Previously, Mr. Waldman was a partner at Riordan & McKinzie, which merged with Bingham in 2003. While at Riordan and Bingham he represented The Gores Group and its portfolio companies in several transactions, including the acquisition and divestiture of MPC Computers, the divestiture of The Learning Company, the acquisitions of Voicecom and Inuntius, the divestiture of Aprisma and a recapitalization of Global Tel*Link.

In addition to his work with Gores, in private practice Mr. Waldman handled mergers, acquisitions, recapitalizations and divestitures, securities law matters, venture capital financings, structured equity investments and private equity fund formation matters for clients of his firm such as Freeman Spogli & Co., GKM Newport, NGEN Partners, Vintage Capital Group, Shelter Capital, SM&A, DJO, Inc., Advance Auto Parts, and private companies.

Mr. Waldman holds a B.A. from Harvard University and a J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
